It has been a busy few months. Between June and September we took a place on a new procurement framework, bought a new building, signed a partnership that takes our sustainability work past the printer, spent a day on a golf course, fed the whole team and their families, and put a new website live.
Some of that matters directly to the organisations we work with. Some of it is simply about the people who do the work, and about the managed print services behind the day job. Both are worth writing down.
Here is the Insight Systems summer round up for 2026, in the order things happened.
A place on the Procurement Services framework
In June we were appointed to the Procurement Services framework, reference Y26009 and formerly known as K.C.S, for Lot 1, Multifunctional Devices, and Lot 3, Heat-Free Inkjet Printers. The framework is recognised by the Department for Education, and it gives schools, academies, local authorities and other publicly funded organisations a compliant way to buy without running a full tender of their own.
The appointment followed a detailed evaluation covering quality, value, service delivery and compliance. That matters more than it sounds. A buyer coming through the framework starts from a list that has already been checked, which cuts weeks out of a purchase and removes most of the paperwork risk that sits with the buying organisation.
It also sits alongside our place on the Crescent Purchasing Consortium framework, so most education and public sector buyers can now reach us through a route their finance team already recognises. The full framework announcement sets out the lots and the benefits in more detail.
A new building in Kent
In July we bought a building a few doors down from our head office in Kent. It is a straightforward investment in having enough room, and it gives us space for growing teams, better collaboration between them and more operational capacity behind the service our customers actually feel.
Growth in the education sector is a large part of the reason. Two framework appointments since spring last year bring more schools, colleges and universities through the door, and those accounts need people behind them: engineers, account managers and the support desk. The announcement about the new building explains where it fits in the wider plan.
A partnership that goes beyond print
Also in July, we partnered with measurable.energy to help customers find and cut the energy their buildings waste on everyday plugged-in equipment.
We have spent years reducing the environmental impact of printing through heat-free inkjet technology and better-managed fleets. This goes further. Plugged-in appliances can account for up to 40% of a building's electricity use, and close to half of that energy may be wasted, yet most organisations have no view of consumption at the level of an individual device.
The technology from measurable.energy combines smart sockets with a platform that learns usage patterns and switches equipment off when nobody needs it, without relying on anyone remembering. It typically cuts plug load energy by 30% to 67%, with payback inside three to twelve months. A printer left on overnight or a monitor drawing power at the weekend looks trivial on its own. Across a whole estate, those small draws add up quickly. Our measurable.energy partnership page covers how it works in practice.
A day on the golf course
In July we put the phones down and got the clubs out. Colleagues, customers and partners spent the day at West Malling Golf Club in Kent, and the weather held for all of it.
There was friendly competition and a good deal of conversation that would never have happened over email. Our thanks go to the club for the hospitality. We enjoyed it enough that we intend to make it an annual fixture.
A barbecue for the team and their families
In August we closed the office for an afternoon and brought everyone together at our premises, families included. There was a barbecue, an ice cream van and a few hours with no laptops in sight.
It would be easy to treat an afternoon like that as a nice extra, but we think it earns its place. The people in those photographs are the ones who answer the phone when a device goes down at nine in the morning, and time with them, and with the families who put up with the busy weeks, is time well spent. The people who look after your account are listed on our team page, if you want to put faces to the names.
A new website
In September the new website went live. It had been a long time in the works, and it replaces a site that had grown section by section over many years until finding anything took more clicks than it should have.
The new one is built around how people actually arrive. If you know the service you need, it is one step away. If you are buying through a framework, that route has its own page. If you want to compare devices by brand, the partner pages carry that. The news section, where you are reading this, now sorts by topic rather than running as one long list.
What the rest of 2026 looks like
The frameworks and the extra space set up the same thing: taking on more work without letting service slip. That is the balance we will be watching for the rest of the year.
If any of the above is relevant to your organisation, whether that is a compliant buying route, cutting what your print estate costs or finding the energy your building wastes after hours, our team will talk it through with you. You can also reach us on 0800 910 1000.
